COMPETITION NAME:

Children's vocal radio competition “CRYSTAL VOICE” (hereinafter referred to as the Competition).

COMPETITION ORGANIZERS:

DATES AND TIMELINES OF THE COMPETITION

Submission of applications: from November 20, 2023 to February 10, 2024
Main Competition: February - March 2024 (the exact dates of the Main Competition will be announced additionally by the Organizer).

GENERAL REGULATIONS:

This Regulations determine the procedure, conditions for organizing and holding the Competition among vocally gifted children.

PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION:

Discovering new talents, popularizing children's and youth creativity and performing arts, strengthening friendships between young talents, the opportunity to demonstrate vocal skills to a wide multinational audience.

COMPETITORS:

Applicants aged from 8 to 18 years are allowed to participate in the Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Contestant /Contestants).

AGE GROUPS:

Contestant’s competitive performances will be assessed in 3 (three) age groups*:

• 8-11 years old;
• 12-15 years old;
• 16-18 years old.

* If at the time of the Main Competition the Contestant has not yet reached the next year, but less than 3 (three) months remain before the date of birth, the Contestant moves to an older group.

PERFORMANCE GENRES:

Applicants with musical works in the following areas are allowed to participate in the Competition:

• pop vocals,
• academic vocals,
• folk vocals,
• jazz vocals.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

The expert jury of the Competition evaluates the Contestant’s vocal abilities according to the following criteria::

• performance technique, musicality, expressiveness, beauty of timbre, strength of voice, technique of performance, emotionality of performance, etc.;
• compliance of the repertoire chosen by the Contestant with age capabilities and age grou;
• purity of intonation, culture of sound, understanding of style;
• compliance with the requirements of the competition regulations, general impression.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETITION MATERIAL:

Contestants, at their own choice, have to provide 2 (two) songs for the Competition.

Both music pieces must have a “minus” soundtrack - the musical accompaniment of a song without a voice and a “plus” soundtrack - a recording of the song with both accompaniment and the vocalist’s voice.

The “plus” soundtrack is recorded in the Organizer’s studio if Contestant passes to the 1st round of the Main Competition.

The duration of each piece of music should not exceed 3 (three) minutes.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION:

Participation in the Competition is provided free of charge, with the exception of the recording of special professional soundtracks in preparation for the Competition and for participation in the rounds of the main Competition. The soundtracks are recorded at the studio and by the Organizer.

STAGES OF THE COMPETITION:

The Competition involves several stages of participation:

FIRST STAGE, SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION:

Participants must complete and submit an application to participate in the Competition (hereinafter referred to as the “Application”) no later than February 10, 2024 by 6 pm New York time. The Application must include information about the participant.

For persons under 18 years of age, it is necessary to provide information about parents and/or official guardians (Last and First Name, contact information).

It is also necessary to provide information about the musical peaces selected for participation in the Competition: the title, the authors, the duration of the songs.

A sample application is specified in Annex 1 to the Regulations on the Competition.

A video file with the performance of both selected songs must be attached to the application (each song as a separate file), the total volume for one video file should not exceed 150 (one hundred and fifty) MB.

The application is filled out electronically on the website www.rusrek.com in the Competition section.

Also, the Application for participation in the Competition (in printed form) can be sent by mail in an envelope with attached video material (the information can be presented on a USB flash drive) or brought to the editorial office of the RusRek radio station:

SECOND STAGE, QUALIFICATION ROUND:

The expert jury of the Competition selects from the total number of applications 20 (twenty) Participants who qualify for the Main Competition in accordance with their age group.

If a participant of the Qualifying Round passes to the First Round of the Main Competition, the Participant must record a “plus” phonogram - a recording of the accompaniment with the vocalist’s voice, taking into account the on-air requirements of the radio station.

The “plus” phonogram is recorded in the Organizer’s studio, the costs of recording the phonogram are borne by the Competition Participant (payment can be made by check, transfer or cash).

THIRD STAGE, 1st ROUND OF THE MAIN COMPETITION:

The first round of the competition is held weekly in live radio broadcast of the RusRek radio station with the attendance of 5 (five) Contestants in each broadcast according to age group. Contestants from different age groups can take part in the live radio broadcast.

Each Contestant performs one of the songs, submitted to the application for participation in the Competition.

Voting by radio listeners is continues throughout within 7 days from the date of the Contestant’s performance in the 1st round of the Main Competition. Voting closes on the day of the next live broadcast. The results of the 1st round of the Main Competition are announced after the performance of all 16 (sixteen) Contestants.

Based on the decision of the expert jury of the Competition, as well as on the basis of the results of voting of radio listeners, by both via SMS and on the official page of the Competition on website www.rusrek.com, 9 (nine) Participants with the largest number of votes are allowed into the next round.

FOURTH STAGE, SEMI-FINAL OF THE MAIN COMPETITION:

There are 9 (nine) Contestants remaining in the Semi-Finals of the main competition.

Contestants, admitted to the Semi-Finals, perform the second of the songs that were submitted in The Application  

Radio listeners can vote within 5 (five) days from the date of performance for all 9 (nine) contestants in the Semi-Finals. The results of the Semi-finals  will be announced after the performance of all 9 (nine) Contestants .

Based on the decision of both: the expert jury , and the results of voting by radio listeners, by using SMS voting and voting on the official page of the Competition, 6 (six) Contestants with the largest number of votes are allowed into the next round.

FIFTH STAGE, FINAL OF THE MAIN COMPETITION:

6 (six) Contestants who have passed the previous stages of the Competition will perform in the Finals.

Each Contestant repeats one of the songs that was selected for participation in the Competition (the Participant’s choice and with the agreement of the Competition Organizers).

The voting results and the Winners of the Competition will be announced at the Gala Concert. 

SIXTH STAGE, GALA CONCERT OF THE COMPETITION:

The Gala Concert of the Competition is held with the participation of 6 (six) contestants who have passed the previous stages of the Competition.

Each Contestant has the right to perform any musical peace performed by him/her during the Competition period.

The Organizer of the Competition can also offer participation in the Gala Concert to the Contestants of the Semi-finals of the Competition and the 1st round of the Main Competition.

WINNER OF COMPETITION:

Based on the decision of the expert jury of the Competition, as well as on the basis of the results of voting by radio listeners, in both: via SMS and on the official page of the Competition on website www.rusrek.com, the Winner of the Competition with the largest number of votes will be announced.

The winners of the Competition are determined in each age group, regardless of the genre of the song.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD

Based on the voting results of radio listeners, a Contestant is identified who will be awarded the Audience Choice Award.

PRIZES AND AWARDS OF THE COMPETITION:

Contestants of the First Round of the Competition (16 participants):

Each Participant in the First Round of the Main Competition receives memorable prizes and gifts from the Organizer and Sponsors of the Competition, as well as a Diploma of Participation in the First Children’s Vocal Radio Competition “Crystal Voice 2024”.

Participants of the Semi-finals of the Competition (9 participants):

Each Participant in the Semi-Finals, who did not qualify for the next stage of the Competition receive memorable prizes and gifts from the Organizer and Sponsors of the Competition.

Participants of the Final Competition (6 participants):

Each Participant in the Finals, who did not qualify for the next stage of the Competition receives memorable prizes and gifts from the Organizer and Sponsors, as well as a Finalist Diploma of the First Children’s Vocal Radio Competition “Crystal Voice 2024”.

Winner of the Competition (3 participants):

The winners of the Competition in each age group receives memorable prizes and gifts from the Organizer and Sponsors, as well as a Diplomas for the Winner of the First Children's Vocal Radio Competition “Crystal Voice 2024” in his/her age group and a special prize of the Competition (Cup). And also a cash prize of 1000 (one thousand) US dollars for each of the winners.
